I’m almost embarrassed by how outrageously simple this recipe is. If you can even call it a recipe, that is. I’m not much of a ‘juicer’ in the modern sense that the concept seems to have taken on; I eat too. While I don’t condone this detox/diet approach to this new fad, I do however love fresh pressed juices and smoothies.
If you’re on the juicing bandwagon or not, here’s one recipe you’ll enjoy. The musk melon and strawberry concoction pairs beautifully with the honey, and the mint leaves, blended into the smoothie gives it that extra jolt of freshness. Basil instead of mint is also something I do pretty often here.
- 200 grams musk melon, chopped
- 100 grams fresh strawberries, hulled
- 2 tbsp honey
- 5 - 6 mint leaves
- 3 - 4 ice cubes
- Place the musk melon in a blender with ¾ cup water and blitz until smooth.
- Add the strawberries, honey, and mint leaves and blend again just until you get the right consistency. Serve immediately.
