Servings
4 1/2 – 5cups
Ingredients
  • 3cups rolled oats
  • 1/4cup flax seeds
  • 1/2cup pumpkin seeds
  • 1/4cup sesame seeds
  • 1/2cup pecans, halved
  • 1/4cup raisins
  • 1/4cup demerara sugar
  • 1/4tsp free-flowing salt
  • 1/2cup + 2 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1/4cup olive oil
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 140 C (280 F).
  2. In a large bowl combine oats, flax seeds, pumpkin seeds, pecans, sesame seeds, sugar and salt. Pour in the olive oil and maple syrup and mix well.
  3. Lay the nuts out on a large baking tray in an even layer and bake in the centre of the oven for 1 – 1 ¼ hours or until golden, turning 2 to 3 times in between to achieve an even colour.
  4. Remove from the oven and let it cool completely to room temperature. Break up the bigger clumps of granola and toss in the raisins. Store in an airtight container.
Recipe Notes

(Note: you want to have a layer of granola on the baking tray that’s not more than about 2 inches. Bake in two batches if you have a smaller oven).
